BOOK UPDATES: Boscul
After looking through Barbara Mauzy 3rd Edition, the following Standard Glasses have been added to our list of updates.
Amaryllis Like BS010 with pale pink centers. Have never seen or heard of this glass, but appears to be as described in book. Very Rare.
Chrysanthemum Like BS102 with dark green leaves
Cosmos Like BS164 but with orange centers. BS 164 has bright pink centers. Have never seen this Cosmos with orange centers, although one collector reported seeing it. Rare.
Gloxinia Like BS306 (with dot) but bright red. Rare.
Pine Like BS517 but slight slant to name and thinner needles
Tea Seed Like BS657 listed but not shown in photos in Mauzy book, is glass with Tea Leaves at top in white, not tea flowers. Does this variation exist? Have had a couple of advanced collectors suggest that it does. Info welcome.
Violet Like BS718 but with small white name at top
BOSCUL FLOWERS
New Additions: Pictured are three Boscul flower glasses that are not in the book. Two have entirely new graphics, a Gladiolus and a Hyacinth, both the only ones known to authors. Here is a photo of the 10 known 5 1/2 inch Collins glasses, plus the Lily of the Valley which is pictured under misfits in the book. There are three top names: Daisy, Morning Glory and Rose and seven bottom names, all with white names: Columbine, Daffodil, Dahlia, Dwarf Iris, Primrose, Snowberry and Star Magnolia. The three pictured separately are not in the book. These glasses are VERY RARE but do turn up in the Boscul sales area. Both Dave and I are convinced these are Boscul glasses, perhaps part of a short-lived promotion. More may appear someday. Several serious collectors have these. Those pictured here reside with Dave.
